Brown Tree???

Hi again.  This card started with two challenges. Papertrey Ink Make-it-Monday #135 Layered Emboss Resist challenge and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Clearly Besotted challenge.  I started with a Rustic Cream card base and stamped a bunch of little stamps from the Merry Little Christmas (CB) set all over the card with Fine Linen ink.  Then I heat embossed the tree from Tree Trimming Trio with Versamark ink and clear embossing powder.  I also die cut post-its with the large scallop die and covered part of the card and rubbed Versamark ink over and heat embossed the bottom portion.  Stamped the snowflake ornaments with Fine Linen ink and embossed them.  I then took Dark Chocolate ink and rubbed it over the whole card. Punched holes on the scallops and threaded ribbon through.  I am wishing I would have stamped some woodgrain over the brown area.  I may still go back and do that.  Thanks for stopping by, Sentimentally Sue.

Yep, it made a big difference!
Thanks again!!

Merry Besotted Christmas

Hello.  This was a fun card to make.  I started with Papertrey Ink white cardstock.  I used a stamp set from Clearly Besotted called Merry Little Christmas and grouped a bunch of little images and words to create a block stamp.  Then stamped it across the panel with Ballet Blue ink from Stampin Up.  I them took a set from PTI called Snowflake Medley and stamped it in Versamark ink over the words.  Heat embossed it with clear powder and using the backside of the snowflake images stamped them in Spring Rain ink from PTI.  I layered the panel on navy cardstock and tied a nay ribbon around it.  All mounted on a PTI white card base.  I thought this was a fun twist to the MIM #135 Layered Emboss Resist technique.
I will also be entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of Rubber or Clear stamps with a focus on Clearly Besotted stamps.
Thanks again for dropping by,
Sentimentally Sue.

Case Study #161 and a few other challenges...

Howdy!  Below was the inspiration for my card.  It is from the Case-Study Challenge Blog.

Now onto my card.  I started with PTI's white cardstock and stamped the little flowers from the With Sympathy set in Pure Poppy ink.  Then overstamped the Polka Dot Basics with Versamark ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  I then rubbed Aqua Mist ink over the dots.  Stamped the greeting from the Big & Bold Greeting set in aqua ink and added a few poppy flowers.  The stitching is from an old unmarked set stamped in black.  I secured the greeting with washi tape and added the ribbon (SU) with Score Tape. Accented the flower with small rhinestone and a little glitter.

I will be entering this card in several challenges-
Case-Study #161
CAS-Friday #117- real or faux stitching
MIM #135- Layered Emboss Resist

Thanks for stopping by, Sentimentally Sue.

Boo to you!

Hey there!  One more Halloween card.  I started with a PTI white card and stamped the small moon and stars in Summer Sunrise ink. Then stamped the greetings (Martha Stewart) in Versamark ink, heat embossed with clear powder.  Sponged Orange Zest ink over the embossing on the right side of card and Sunrise ink in the left side.  Black spider (SU) was stamped in black ink before the embossing. Then I stamped the faux stitching lines around images in black ink.

The MIM #135 challenges was Layered Emboss Resist.

The Less is more #141 challenge is a spooky one layer card.
CAS-Friday Challenge was real or faux stitching.

Simon Says Stamp challenge was clear or rubber stamped projects.

Thanks for taking time to stop by, Sentimentally Sue.

Eeeek!

Hello people!  Hope you are having a great Saturday!  It is beautiful here in Iowa today. For my first card today I started with a True Black card from Papertrey Ink and stamped the spiders (SU) in white ink.  Heat set them then stamped the Eeeek from Martha Stewart in Versamark ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Rubbed some white ink over the greeting to make it pop and stamped the stitching lines with white ink around the edges. I used a white pencil to highlight the greeting.  I was going for the chalkboard look.  I need to work on this, it's a little rough!
I am going to enter this card in several challenges listed below:
Make-it-Monday #135- Layered Emboss Resist
Simon's Wednesday Challenge- Rubber stamped project
Less is More #141: one layer spooky
CAS-Friday #117- Real or faux stitching
Thanks for stopping by!

PTI September Bolg Hop...card 4

Hey all!  Hope your day is off to a great start.  My cards today are for the PTI blog hop and there are 4 of them.  This card starts off with PTI white and Spring Rain cardstock.  I used the Beautiful Blessings: Holiday stamp set to stamp the wreath with Spring Rain ink.  The wreath is die cut with Spellbinders circle dies. Silver cord and stars are from Stampin Up.   Thanks for stopping by!  SentSue

PTI September Blog Hoop...card 3

So as you can see I have a wreath thing going on here for the PTI blog hop.  This card started with Aqua Mist card stock and I stamped the wreath from Framed Out #9 in white ink.  Then used the star from Tag It #10 stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with gold detail powder.  Used a gold Sharpie to make the dots in the wreath.  Greeting is also a PTI set called Beautiful Blessings: Holiday embossed in gold.  Gold ribbon is from Stampin Up. Come back soon!  Sentimentally Sue

PTI September Blog Hop...card 2

Hello!  On to card number 2!  Simple one layer card.  I love to be able to layer my ink to create depth.  Started with Rustic Cream card stock.  Stamps used were Framed Out #9 (wreath), Beyond Basic Borders (dots & scallop) and Beautiful Blessings: Holiday (greeting).  Inks used are Sweet Blush, Aqua Mist, Soft Stone, Lavender Moon and Smokey Shadow.  Ribbon was some ivory seam binding tape. Thanks for stopping! Sentimentally Sue

PTI September Blog Hop...card 1

Hi ya!  I love making Christmas cards.  This card started with a Scarlet Jewel base and a white layer cut to 4" by 5.25" from PTI.  I stamped the music background (GinaK) in Chai ink from the Tea Dye Duo (PTI).  Also edged the panel with that ink.  The Bubble Joy die is from Memory Box.  I backed the "O" with Simply Chartreuse cardstock and die cut the holly from Chartreuse felt. Stiched the button on with linen thread.  It has been fun to get my fingers inky again...it had been a while.  Thanks for sharing your day with me!  Sentimentally Sue.

Wonderful Words: Birthday

Hey all!  Just slipping in one more card fro the CASE Study #150 challenge.  My first card I made before was a more literal interpretation.  This card uses the colorway from the inspiration card.  I would have never thought to put theses colors together but love the combo.
I used Papertrey Inks Wonderful Words: Birthday set and their white cardstock.  Stampin Up inks.

I also will enter this in the Moxie Fab and Passion For Papertrey Birthday card challenges.  Thanks for dropping by for a visit!

make.a.WISH

Hello!  I have been playing with the watercolor crayons again.  I was going for a soft, cool watery look.  I started using the stamp sets Sketched Shapes and Think Big Favorites from Papertrey ink. Stamped the back of the polka dot with water color crayons then over stamped the image with the sketchy side in Aqua Mist ink.  This was the Make-It-Monday #125 challenge of Defined Watercolor.  I then stamped the greeting by inking the image with Aqua Mist ink and highlighted the bottom of the image with Hawaiian Shores ink to ground it.
I took regular silver sequins and colored them with aqua permanent marker and filled them with crystal effects.  The marker had dulled the sequin and the crystal effects made them shiny again.

So I will be entering this card in these challenges:
CAS-Friday: CFC#109 Polka Dot challenge
CAS-ology: Cool challenge
Papertrey Ink: MIM#125 Defined Watercolored challenge
Passion for Papertrey: Birthday challenge
Moxie Fab: Birthday Card challenge

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Dad's Day

Hey there!  It is Father's Day weekend so I thought I better get with it.  This card started with the CTS #32 challenge.  Then I added in the Papertrey MIM #120 Ombre challenge too.  I used PTI kraft and white cardstock. The stamp sets are also from PTI, World's Greatest and Simple Stripes Background.  The ink was a really old Kaleidacolor pad from Stampin Up called Late November.  These dye based pads created an ombre blending of ink right on the pad. Layers were popped up with foam tape to give diemention.  Thanks for stopping by!  Sentimentally Sue

A Splash of Nectarine...

Hello and Happy Friday to you all!  Today's card started with the Play Date Cafe's color challenge below.
Then I am into the ombre thing right now so the card will also be entered into the Make-It-Monday #120 ombre challenge.  I started with Papertrey white cardstock and watercolored a scrap with Summer Sunrise and Berry Sorbet to get the peachy-pink color.  I let it dry then stamped the greeting from Friends Till the End stamp set in black ink.  Die cut the word bubble with a Hero Arts die.  I used the same die to cut the white layer and stamped the grateful greeting from the same PTI stamp set.

Then layered it all up with some embroidery floss.  I used the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge for the layout on this card.  Love the sketch and will use it again!

Thanks for stopping by to visit!  I would love to hear your comments, Sentimentally Sue.
