PTI July Blog Hop #2

Hey there!  Okay, this is what really speaks to me as summer.  I think of a quilt on the clothes line and kids flying kites in the sunshine. I remember making our own kites with tails and flying them.  Also one of my favorite things to do it hang clothes out to get that fresh smell.  Especially sheets.

So I used Vintage Cream, Clasic Kraft and Happy Hexagons.  Bakers twine is Martha Stewart and ribbon is from Stampin up.  Here is our color inspiration.  Beautiful flowers!
I am also going to enter this in the Moxie Fab Hooked on Hexagons challenge.
Thanks for visiting, stop by again sometime...

PTI July Blog Hop

Good morning to you!  So today is Papertrey Inks July blog hop.  The inspiration photo is below and we were to think about the colors of summer.
My card is below and I used Rosie Posie, Giga Guiedlines (greeting) and PTI white cardstock to create the card.

I will be back with my favorite card in a bit.  Thanks for stopping by!!

Runway Inspired #16

Hello.  This was tough.  I am still not sure about my card.  It has got all the pieces, just not sure they went together the way I wanted them.  When I looked at the dress I saw openwork like a doilies but geometric too.  The pale yellow waistband and the sparkle of the pink shoes stuck out to me also.
So here it is.  Stamps are Inkadinkado, greeting PTI and ink is Stampin Up.

 Thanks for stopping by...Sentimentally Sue.

SAF Papertrey Tie-Dye Challenge

Hello!  There were to many ideas in the Tie -Dye challenge to pass up.  So I decided to try the Copic markers technique.  I started with white cardstock, W1, YG03 and BF72 Copic markers. Not all tie-dye is circles so I thought I would try wavy lines.  I scribbled the markers across the cardstock in uneven lines.  Dripped the alcohol across the top and let it run down the page.  Let it dry and I liked the back side better than the front.  The front still had the marker lines in it.  The back looked more washed out.
Then I stamped the greeting with Ocean Tides ink and die cut the phone out of more white cardstock.  Popped up with foam tape.  Mounted it all on a A2 white card base.
I am also going to enter this in the Moxie Fab "Hello" card challenge.
Fun stuff!  Thanks for the visit,
Sentimentally Sue.

SAF Limited Supply Challenge

So this is my next card in the PTI Stamp-A-Faire.  It was made for the Limited Supply Challenge.  Here is the list of what we could use:

  • STAMPS: Natural Beauties only (or another floral set as a substitute if needed)
  • PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Hawaiian Shores, Aqua Mist, Simply Chartreuse
  • RIBBON: Hawaiian Shores Bitty Dot
  • BUTTONS: Simply Chartreuse

  • I didn't have the Natural Beauties set so I used Pretty Peonies set.
Thanks for the visit.  Come again soon,

    SAF Tie Dye Challenge

Hello! Wishing you a sunny saturday!  Sorry I really wish we were having a rainy day.  Just can't seam to muster up a storm around here.  So PTI is having a camp like Stamp-A-Fair and there are challenges all day long.  The first one I wanted to try was the tie-dye.  Started with PTI white cardstock, swirled SU Summer Sun then PTI Orange Zest, and finally Raspberry Fizz.  Used the water and a paintbrush to make circles around in the inks.  Love it!  Stamped the greeting on a scrap of white in black ink and popped the layers up with foam tape.
Also a little Moxie Fab "Hello" card challenge.
    Thanks for dropping by,
    Sentimentally Sue.

    Rollin, rollin, rollin...

Hello.  Hope you had a great day.  So I took a picture of my PTI "Roll the Die" challenge sheet.  Maybe you can see where the other cards I have made started and where my next card it going to take me.  So the card I made for this post was a roll of a 4,1,5,2,3 and 3.
I really wanted to use a text style stamp and so for the blocks that are coming from both sides of the sketch.  So I took the Picnic Sentiments and arranged them on the block and stamped the with navy ink.  Stamped the Turning a New Leaf in New Leaf ink for the place of the stars in the sketch.  To add the final little sparkle to the card I added the little flower in Autumn Rose ink.  My embellishment was ribbon so final addition is the rose colored ribbon.

    Thanks for dropping by,
    Sentimentally Sue.

    Let's roll the dice again...

Hello.  So I had to try this again.  Rolled the die and here is what I came up with...
    1. Horizontal layout
    2. Sketch #3
    3. Polka Dot Basics
    4. Happy Hexagons
    5. Ocean Tides, Aqua Mist and Harvest Gold
    6. Pins
This is crazy fun.  The details are on the link below:
I started with white cardstock and white ink stamping Polka Dot Basics.  Then used the Happy Hexagons in the three colors over the top of the white dots.  I also stamped some hexagons on a white scrap and hand trimmed them.  Popped the extra hexagons with foam tape.

This also fits in with the Play Date Cafe color challenge #140.  I like this combo and will use it again.

I think this also fits the CASE-Study challenge for colors and theme.  My card reminds me of a quilt, and with the pins for a sewing theme.  Challenge card is below.

And last but not least I am going to enter it in the Moxie Fab Hooked on Hexagons challenge.
Thanks so much for stopping by,
    Sentimentally Sue

    Bring on the crazy challenge...

So I have this thing for a challenge...like you couldn't figure that one out.  hahaha  So the PTI Make it Monday challenge is a crazy one this week.  There are six sketches, four different categories and 2 orientations and with a roll of the die your choices are made.  So the first roll gave me a 1, horizontal layout.  Next roll was a 5, sketch #5.  next roll was a 3, Heart Prints stamp set.  Roll number four was a 4, Damask stamp set.  Color roll was a 2 for Raspberry Fizz, Orange Zest and Simply Chartruce.  Last roll was embellishments, crepe paper.
So here is my card.  Was great fun and I am going back to try again!
See ya later and thanks for stopping.
    Sentimentally Sue
P.S.  I do have some really crazy things on my lists so I am looking forward to some really hard challenges.

    Happy For You!

Stamping on texture is the game and I wanted to play.  Started with PTI white cardstock and embossed in with a folder in my Cuttlebug.  Stamped over it with a text stamp and gold ink.  Then heat embossed it with gold detail powder.  It didn't pop enough so I rubbed gold ink over the raised parts of the embossing.  Die cut the frame with the Pretty Peonies die and heat embossed the frame in gold.  Greeting is from PTI also.  Mounted all layers of stamped cardstock to a white card base.

Thanks for visiting and come again!

    Golden Text

Happy Monday to you.  The week started off good I hope.  I wanted to create a card that focused on "stamping on texture" (PTI MIM #74).  I started with an embossing folder and stamped right on it with gold ink then ran the folder through my Cuttlebug with Vintage Cream cardstock.  Then quickly heat embossed the text with gold detail powder.  Mounted the panel on a card base of Vintage Cream.  Stamped the greeting from Stampin Up on a scrap of cardstock and heat embossed it also.  Popped up the panels with foam tape to give more contrast.
The "Less is More" challenge this week was to make a card with a lot of white space and use gold as your focus.

The CAS-ual Fridays challenge was to make the text be a focus in your project.

    Thanks for stopping by,

    Little Blessings

Hi again.  Boy, has this been a stamping weekend.  This card is for two challenges.  CASE-Study for the card below and the MIM #73 stamping on pinted paper challenge.
So I took the color palette, blue circle and baby theme from the inspiration card.

I used Rustic White cardstock and Bitty Baby Blessings stamp set from Papertrey Ink.  The background paper was from Stampin Up.

    Have a great evening!

    Lots of Lovely Layers

Still playing with my new stamp sets.  The Make-it-Monday challenge is to stamp on backgound paper this week so my flower has some text print paper and the flowered background paper is a K & Company tan paper with white dots.  I stamped the flowers with the Lovely Layers set from PTI.  Color palette is Melon Berry, Sweet Blush, Smokey Shadow and white.

I am also entering it in the Moxie Fab Thank You challenge.
    See you soon,
    Sentimentally Sue

    Gratitude to you!

Happy Lord's day to you!  Hope you all are enjoying a little rest today, or stamping.    So to start on this card I used the Playdate Cafe colorway of Gold, Silver and a Neutral.  Then I used a patterned paper for my stamping so it can be entered in the Papertrey Make-it-Monday challenge.  Paper is from K & Company.  I started stamping the flower stamp from Stampin up in Pallette Noir ink.  Then over stamped it in Versamark and heat embossed it with Gold Glory(SU) embossing powder. Mounted the background paper to Black cardstock(PTI).  I punched out the window with the Word Window punch(SU).  Tied some gold cord around the window.  Layered it on to Fine Linen cardstock from Papertrey Ink with foam tape.
Stamped the greeting also from Papertrey in the window.

The Less is More challenge this week was to use white space and gold as my focus so I am entering this card there also.  Moxie Fab is having a thank you challenge too!  Thanks for stopping by,
    Sentimentally Sue

    CASE Study #98

Hello.  The Case study challenge was to use the card below as our inspiration.  I took from it the blue area behind the focal point, blue cardstock and
the fact it is a baby card.
Below is my card.  I love those Happy Hexagons.  They made a really cute background with Bliss Blue and Barely Bannana ink from Stampin Up.  The other stamps are from the set Bitty Baby Blessi1ngs from Papertrey Ink.
Cardstock and dies is also from PTI.

    Sweet dreams all!
    Sentimentally Sue

    Lovely Layers...MIM#73

So I got my new stamps in the mail today and I had to get them inky.  The Papertrey Make-It-Monday challenge was to stamp on background paper.  I started with some old Stampin Up paper I had that worked with Aqua Mist ink perfectly.  So the cardstock base is Aqua Mist.  I also used New Leaf ink.

    Thanks for stopping by,
    Sentimentally Sue.

    Embellish Tea Party

Hello.  The photo below is from the Embellish Magazine Tea Party color challenge.  When I first looked at it I saw a lot of white and many circles.  Then the soft colors.
So that was my starting point and the tea of course. Ink is all Stampin Up.  Dies are from Spellbinders.  Cardstock and stamps are from Papertrey Ink.  I popped the layers up with layers of foam tape.

    Again thanks for stopping by.
Your word of encouragement mean a lot to me.

    "Text Me" challenge

Good morning!  Hpoe you all had a great friday evening and got some stamping in.  This card is kind of funny in the fact that the black cardstock with text on it is from my Kindle packaging.  When I saw it I knew I needed to save it.  I loved the kraft and black together.  So I started with a kraft 4.25 by 4.25" base card.  Die cut a Quick Cuts mini book die from the Kindle packaging.  Punched a small oval(SU) from the mini book and backed the hole with white cardstock stamped with Raspberry Fizz ink and a Papertrey greeting.  Added the mini flower eyelets from Stampin Up.

Clean and Simple.  Thanks for stopping by,
    Sentimentally Sue.

    CFC60 and MIM73

Me again!  So I haven't had a chance to stamp all week till now.  So this is like my fourth post today.  I am going to enter it in the text challenge on CAS-ual Fridays and the Papertrey stamping on background paper.
I started with the phone book paper and stamped the hearts to mimic a rotery dial.  Die cut the base circle out of black cardstock.  I also die cut the phone from black and clear embossed the phone die cut. The word bubble was hand drawn and greeting stamped in Pure Poppy ink.  Heart button was from Hobby Lobby.
Talk to you later.  Thanks for dropping by,
    Sentimentally Sue.

    Birthday Greetings

When I see plaids like this I always think of the plaid school uniforms I wore as a child.  I know it was easier on my mom but there was some really ugly ones.  I don't think this is a dress that will be in my fall wardrobe. This is the inspiration for the Runway Challenge #15.
And here is my card.  I thought it would make a great guys birthday card.  The square HB, Dusty Durango and Buckaroo Blue ink are all from Stampin Up.  The white cardstock and the rest of the greetings are from Papertrey Ink.

I am also going to enter it in the "text" challenge over on the
    Clean and Simple Fridays blog.

    Thanks for stopping by again!
    Sentimentally Sue

    Blog Banner Challenge

Hi!  So the challenge was to use the banner over at "Less is More" as our inspiration.  I really wanted this to be a single layer and I had failled with that on my last card so I thought I wouls try one more time.
Stamped the frame and greeting from the PTI Pretty Peonie set.  Then masked it  and stamped Turning a New Leaf(PTI), music(GinaK) and swirls(unknown) in black ink.

Thats it for now.  Thanks for stopping by!
    Sentimentally Sue
